The Pacific Society of Women in Business was created to encourage women to start thinking about their roles in the workforce. This organization was inspired to create a community where women can come together to speak about subject matters that may be more comfortable talking about amongst women. In addition, our organization understands the need to supply women with the proper tools for a smooth transition after college into the workforce. We aim to educate our members on women’s rights and issues that have risen in the recent years that affect women and our allies. We stand by being empowered women to empower others.

Before the official launch of the organization, Maria Rios, with the help of Dr. Jeffrey Miles and Dr. Cynthia Eakin, saw the need for an organization that supported the women in business at Pacific in order to build a network, develop their professional skills, and understand how to excel in their professional and personal lives.

Maria Rios, alongside the founding six executive board members, launched the Pacific Society of Women in Business in October of 2018. The organization went public on January 11th, 2019.

I never dreamt of success. I worked for it.
